I don’t know where you are today…

I don’t know where you are on the mountain of life.  Are you at the base of the mountain staring up thinking it looks way too high to climb? Is the stuff in your life seeming insurmountable? Maybe you are down in the valley in a place that makes the mountain look even taller?  Are you close to the summit and all is going super well but you can’t seem to get all the way to the top? Or are you standing on the summit, at the peak, surveying the beauty all around you, thinking it can’t get any better than this?

Wherever you are on the mountain of life…

I can tell you I have been there.  Not in your exact situation, but I have seen the highest of highs and the lowest of lows.  I have looked at the world from the summit and I have stared up from the valleys. The views are drastically different from these vantage points.

And I have learned one thing…

From all of these vantage points, they all have one thing in common- the importance of trusting the story.  Trusting the story that God is writing in your life.  Trusting that He knows the story better than we ever could.  That He knows how all the dots connect.  He knows how the story ends.  And he loves the heck out of us. Take a minute to ponder that- you are loved.  Fully and unconditionally.  He couldn’t love you more if he had to.  You are priceless in His eyes.

I remember very clearly…

Laying on the floor in my server room in a full-on panic attack, paralyzed and unable to move.  The mountain of even getting up seemed completely impossible.  There was no hope.  I felt there was no way out.  And here I am, three years later, living out dream after dream.  Because I trusted the story that was being written.  It wasn’t easy.  And I cried out to God so many times.  So many times.  I screamed at Him.  I was so angry that my life had gotten so far off track.

But even in the midst…

Of my pain and my feeling alone and believing that I couldn’t go on, I was never alone.  But I had to make a choice.  And it is a choice we can make every day.  That choice is simple but not easy.  In fact, it can be brutally difficult.  How we choose into it will affect our trajectory.

The choice is this…

Will you choose Fear and Doubt or will you choose Faith, Hope, and Belief?  There it is.  That is the choice.  And it is a free choice.  In the moments of your life, what will you choose?  It can be painfully hard.  But we get to choose.  Faith, Hope, and Belief or Fear and Doubt.  And what we choose will affect how the mountains in our life look to us.

Three years ago…

I hit rock bottom.  And the best thing about rock bottom is that you can only go up from there.  I didn’t know what was next, but I tried my best to trust the story.  To actively trust the story.  To pray like it depended on God and work like it depended on me.  And now I am speaking to groups about my journey.  I am coaching people on their journey.  I just received an opportunity to lead a workshop for a group of dentists, an opportunity I have been praying about for a long time!

And even better…

My second book is coming out soon.  And I want you all to be a part of the launch team and celebrate the launch with an amazing event.  The first ever Iowa WINtheNOW Gathering! I even got to lead a group of business owners on a retreat to Utah last week and learn curling on the Olympic ice. Who gets to do that?  I couldn’t have imagined three years ago.

It’s all about choice…

Choosing faith, hope, and belief over fear and doubt.  I know it is not easy.  But making a choice, one moment at a time, consistently, leads to changes in the way our brain works.  We can really change our mindset.  But we have to start.  It all starts with one choice.  What will you choose today?  High on the mountain, down in the valley, or somewhere in between, what will you choose?  If you need a little inspiration, check out this song.  So powerful!

If the mountain seems too high…

Just know you aren’t alone.  Not even close.  I have been there.  And one of my great joys in life is getting to walk alongside people to help make a plan to move forward and make it up the mountains they are facing.  I needed that help three years ago.  Now I get to help others.  But I had to raise my hand first.  I had to believe I wasn’t the only one facing life this way.  If you want to have a conversation, please use this link to reach out.
